An old Restaurant My Grandmother loved to go to.

Some of you are probably wondering, why I posted this in this thread,

This is basically in Randy's backyard.

My family was from Princeton and as a child we always went back to visit family.

My brother and I went back last fall and really had a great time recounting fond memories of that town.

One side of the family came from the coal mines in Arista and Dot, not much left other than gas lines in the woods.

I should just start a new thread with picts........

Keats,

I was raised in Turkey Gap hollow, at Dott.  My Dad was killed there at the Prep. Plant, in 1972.  I think that is Main Street, in Matoaka.  I think the building beside the Carter Building is the old Sportsman Grille, Poolroom.  I could be wrong.  The Ferris Wheel is at the old Lake Shawnee property.  I've seen the blue building before, just can't recall where it was.  Are the steps leding to the little pond up Turkey Gap Hollow, or Arista? The old Hotel is the Virginian, in Princeton, WV.  Later--HUBBARD

DING DING DING

Hubbard you win the prize and are 100% correct.

There are not many that could have answered those.

Hotel Virginian was a Princeton landmark for many years.

The baptismal was right at the road ON ROUTE 10 and you can walk down to what is left of the Tipple and Company store.

Blue building is on route 10 right where it splits at 19     York?
