Springtime is here and the riding is easy in SoCal. We did a beach ride yesterday to Carlsbad to see the Flower Fields and on the way back meandered through some great two lane roads. The sweet smell of orange trees and strawberry fields this time of year makes you think that this is what riding is all about.
...and yes Jimmy we stopped at Los Olas for maggies and lunch, on Tueday its happy hour all day.

Yup, that's under an 1967 westie H2 cooled steam turbine generator, a lil 28 megawatt pup.   The ol Riley boiler does not get run to often anymore...economics...a good thing as far as I am concerned...

Yesterday was getaway day for the Laughlin River Run in Nevada. I have not been for a few years but always enjoy riding through the Mojave Desert this time of year, so some locals and I decided to day trip and head to Amboy, Ca which is along the old Route 66. We enjoyed great two laners through 29 Palms and and old Amboy Road where the momentum of the event starts to build up. The guy who owns Juan Polo bought the town a few years ago and has it looking pretty good. He got the gas pumps going again and serves his famous chicken for the folks who still love that old road. The weather was great and the bikes outnumbered the cages about 100 to one. From what I saw it looks like it could be a epic year for the River Run.
