Boom Audio AVC
« on: December 28, 2014, 09:08:49 AM »

A riding bud has same problem I do with volume control, AVC not working. Shop changed out his switch on the bar and it seems to have solved his problems. A hardware malfunction might make sense. We all have same software and some works great and some do not. Going to wait and see if it really solved his problem before I ask dealer to change mine. I still have to turn AVC off and on after I start bike to get the volume to a level I can hear at 60+ MPH. Wonder if anyone else has changed the switch and if it made any difference?

I honestly do not see how it can be the volume switch.  But stranger things have happened.  I really think its in the software.  A latching bit so to speek for the AVC,

You are probably correct. That's why I'm not rushing down to shop and asking for a replacement. I want to see results firsthand before I do that.

Yes I'm in the same boat. Have to turn mine off then back on everytime I start the bike to get the AVC to work. Have just been using headphones of late waiting for a work around to come to light.

Check your Harley history over the past couple decades.  They tend to take about six years to address major mechanical issues that can leave people stranded, so a year and a half for an infotainment problem isn't even on their radar.  Only when every affected person starts raising holy hell with H-D will something "possibly" get done.  And from what I've been reading, many/most seem to have this and other issues with the new system.

Lots of issues.  When they fixed the East TN time issue last update, as they had it centeral time zone not eastern.  They fixed that, but then moved GA to Atlantic time Zone.  AL is Central time zone but gives eastern now.  Time is right in FL Pan Handle but they have it as Mountain time.  All that screwed up just fixing the eastern part of TN

Auto dimming works, but it will not get light again until you turn off the bike and restart.  GPS routing many times make no sense and will run you 50 miles out of your way.

This has to be why you do no get JD powers survays or satisfaction serveys on the product.

Tried the address on my RT Zumo 660.  Found 5900 or 6031 but not 4530.   :nixweiss:
