Wow I posted this same problem last month or so!  I had a lot of people respond with the same problem! My AVC works fine once I start the bike, back it down then take it back up until I shut  the bike off!  It's incredible that you pay 40 K or so for a motorcycle and everything does not work right!

I wrote the MOCO a letter about AVC and an annoying whistle coming from the fairing of my 2015 FLTRUSE.  They called today.  The answer for the AVC was "it may not work the way you want it to, but it does wortk".  I told them it was unacceptable to have AVC and still have to manually adjust the volume.  They said thanks for the feedback and that it may be part of a future update.  Lesson learned: Bring issues up to them often and keep hammering them about it.  "The squeaky wheel gets the grease."

i am sure as i say this that something else will break...but to date, after nearly one year of ownership, i have had no problems with the AVC...the CB not transmitting half the time when using the navigation system, yes...but no problem with the AVC

Funny, I called in Sept about that issue.  First they ever heard of it.  Had to give them the vin and all.  Called back an hour later about my wife's bike AVC not working, low and behold the first the ever heard of it, had to give them vin and all.  After next update call again about AVC, again first they hear of it, so I gave them the date, time I called for each bike in Sept.  Gave them the case numbers too.  Well after the next up date called a 3rd time, as they screwed up more than they fixed.  AVC still not working, again never heard of it, I got a little up set and told the guy bull chit, he was lying.  HD has known about it since at least sept when I opened cases on two bikes..

Was told there will be an update this month.  My bet AVC still wont work and they will screw something else up. Time zones will still be wrong.

They just do not care or a headunit that has been in production for 18 months would be working correctly.

Sent another letter to the MOCO.  We'll see if they fix it in the next update.  I told them it works if you turn it off then turn it back on again.

...and yet, people still buy them, hence the problem.

Good luck.  I have called after each update about the AVC.  Still no fix.  The Time zone fix on this last update made it MUCH worse than it was.  Now instead of East TN being wrong, as in Central time.  The State is all in eastern now.  Also has it screwed up in AL, FL and GA now.

i am sure as i say this that something else will break...but to date, after nearly one year of ownership, i have had no problems with the AVC...the CB not transmitting half the time when using the navigation system, yes...but no problem with the AVC

Really which bike?  I have yet to hear of a 15 CVO RGU with out the issue.  My understanding is its an issue on the limiteds also.

Mailed letter #3 detailing the AVC issue and fairing whistle last week.  No word from HD yet.
