Could you please explain this to the group? This is your first post. Am I missing something?

AJ, just catching up reading post. I think I can explain; this newbie is a friend of mine and we were debating the heel /toe shifter. He has used his heel for years and I'd removed mine day one. I told him I will pose the question on the CVO site, which I did. I'm sure his "As I have told you previously" was from our recent conversation. Been trying to get him in here for a couple of years, saying what a great group of people were here. He finally dives in and you jump the newbies butt on his first post. He will probably never come back. OK AJ, say your sorry. :ROFLOL:

Not used to a heel shifter, so I always find myself using the toe shifter...

My old age, arthritis and habit make the heal shifter to painful to use, so its the toe shifter for me. Anybody want to buy a never used heal shifter?

Ride Safe.

On my FLSTS (Heritage Springer) I used heel and toe all the time, it was great.  Now I own the SERK I only use the toe and I put this down to the difference in riding position.

When I first got my Street Glide, I was going to have the heel shift removed , never has a bike with one and it seemed akward. The folks at the dealer said ..wait a while give it a chance. Now I love it , heel going up toe going down.

I like the heel shift. Something new for me after years on the Low Rider with forward controls.

I purchased an extended heel shift and lowered it.  Now I like the heel shift function.  The heel shift is 2 inches longer.

I have a theory about the heel shifter...I think it is one of the reasons some people have problems with the spline on the shifter mechanism.  More feel with the toe, and there is a tendency to just slam it down with weight when heel shifting.  It is very uncomfortable for me to use it...an unnatural action for me.  I leave it on there to use in case the other one falls off or something, but I've got them both loctited on....

I'm a heel shifter.  It hurts the top of my toes to use the toe shift with just flip flops on. :orange: :pepper:

I will occasionally shift up with my toe, but almost always shift up with the heel shifter...don't know if it is a boot shine deal or if I am lazy (probably lazy).

I have seen a few folks turn the heel shift lever all the way over so that it sets on top of the toe shift lever.  I guess this way they always have their spare with them.

OK, I have been drawn to the dark side. I removed the spacer and reinstalled the heel shifter recently and I have to say I like it. Guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. :2vrolijk_21:
