need advice
« on: March 13, 2010, 11:09:43 AM »

I have a 08 road king and the warranty is about up, I have about 8964 miles on it, is the warranty worth buying at $1,064 for to years, what they cover I should think would not go wrong with the bike (ignition switch, cruise module, starter, transmission, speedometer, steering system bearings, engine etc.) this bike is not a cvo.

Extended warranty (service contract) is negotiable.  Many dealerships are willing to sell it to you for 15-20% below suggested retail.......shop around.

But to answer your question........my extended warranty has paid for itself and then some, on my last four bikes (since I started buying the extended warranty).  From stators, starters to motor mounts, clutch basket, electrics, etc.  It's even a greater value on the baggers because of all the electrics. :2vrolijk_21:

When I bought my 06 last year I won a 1 year extended warranty through harley at th dealership, with all the potential issues these bikes could have I may renew it, I think on the newer bikes with the 110 motor it is a good bet to buy it from what I have read on this site.

I really don't think you need it at this point. How long are you going to keep the bike??? But it does give you peace of mind. Call Jenny @ Tri-County HD in Cincy she will work with you.
