Below is a pic of the installed Ultra Brace. As you can see, no trimming of the CVO tour-pak liner is needed.

Jerry

And that's why you trim the liner.  :nixweiss:

Mine is installed the same as Jerry's and did not trim the liner.  Works/looks fine.     :nixweiss:

ultrafxr,
Nope, they were not standard equipment on the 2011 SERGU. I did the install myself.

I'm pretty sure your 2012 SEUC was the first CVO model to have the Bass Ports factory installed.

The 65K question...are the bass ports worth it?

Have the bass ports on my 2012 did not have them on my Black 2010 that i switched the speakers to the Boom Audio on, can not hear a difference.
but i am Jealous of the 2012 CVO street glide sound system, it blows away the electraglide sound both in volume and richness.Tempted to change out the whole rear end and bags to match the street glide. Speakers in saddle bags cool looking fender.
cheers

I can't hear worth a chit anyway.  So if it did offer any 'improvement' I could not tell.

Terry,
IMHO....No. The only way to truly improve bass response is through a larger diameter speaker. There is only so much low frequency air movement you can get out of small speakers on a motorcycle....... ;)

I noticed that the EGlide Goodies website shows model TB-3 while the J&P lists a TB-2.  Wonder what the difference is?  :nixweiss:

Looks like a good product but I am not excited about having to do surgery to the bottom and top tour-pak liners.  Unsure at this point.  May just go to the old tried and true non-retractable cable.

From EGlide Goodies site:TB-3: Silver zinc plated to match the inside of the tour-pak. The new TB-3 improves the bracket angle for optimal installation ease and tour-pak lid open/close operation. :2vrolijk_21:

JR, I ordered one today, looks like a nice piece and I'm nervous about the retractable.

Yikes!  E-Glides sale price brings it down to J&P Cycles normal price.  E-Glide wants $14 shipping and J&P gets $8 shipping.  Guess I'll get it from J&P.

I was checking this out yesterday and it said they are no longer available at J&P. I'm going with EGlide Goodies and ordered one for Jerry and shipping is $16.95 so it comes out to a little over $8 for both and I'm getting the improved version TB-3. It was $13.95 for one so only $3 more for the second one:2vrolijk_21:
