I put the registration and insurance papers under the seat, next to the battery.

I got the detachable sissy bar for mine.  When I need to take something along I just put it on and attach the bag.

I just tried today.....Using my backpack. Evan at high speeds it was not bad. It never tried to move and was a lot more comfortable than I expected. I travel ( fly) a lot and have found it very useful. Now when needing to carry something on the small side the packpack worke great. All without any extra cost or changes to the Bike.

I agree, i have used the back pack option a few times for weekenders, the backpack bag sits on the pillion seat so all the weight of the bag is off your shoulders, i also have a permanent fender rack fitted (no sisy bar) i can attach one large bag to the rack and another large bag sitting on the pillion seat.

GET A 8-9 INCH FORK BAG AND ATTACH IT TO THE FRONT OF THE A FRAME AT THE HEIGHT OF THE FRONT CYLINDER. HAD MINE THERE FOR 2 YEARS (07 CVO SPRINGER)....NO PROBLEMS. LONGER TRIP, GET A CORTECH TAIL BAG. GOOGLE IT.
