While I live in the city, there is a section of town less than 5 miles away with a deer problem.  At one point, they allowed a professional to come in and hunt deer, deposit feed to control the population.

I trust they do not impose a problem for you...

You are lucky. the deer are thick around this part of the country. That is why I don't like to ride much after dark. I've seen as many as thirty in one field. My son-in-laws and grandkids like it because they are hunters. Hardly a week goes by around here when some motorist or another doesn't hit one. Last week I drove to where I used to work to donate blood and I counted five dead deer along the road in a mile section.

Yup, H-Ds and Deer don't mix well together.  Last year, went to the Utah State HOG rally and saw a few dead deer lining the shoulders of the HWY.  We had to slow suddenly on the poker run when a family of deer crossed the road and the little doe got scared and waited until we rode by.  Beautiful creatures but, I'd hate to see what they would do to the H-D since I know they cause great damage to autos and trucks.

Yep, lost a good riding buddy to a deer......the bad thing is it was mid-afternoon and not in the rut season when they move around more.  Just leap out of the woods and nailed him on his scoot.  Just like someone in a car running a red light.  Just as dead or injured.  They're bad thru out the country, worse around here in the Carolinas, I think.  I bought the electronic deer whistle for my softtail, but I don't think it could possibly be effective.  You either outrun the signal or the deer are not educated to be wary of the tone.  :-? Another hundred bucks  down the  [smiley=toilet.gif]  har!  spyder
