Went to the website and saw the video on the engine (Looks Cool) but when you click on motorcycles I didn't see one, just them building one. :nixweiss: You would think they would have something to see...just saying! :D ;D

That's sweet.  Would've been really tough to part with that.  I loved those bikes.

My current Road King almost got more fringed out than it is as I was going through the build.  At one time planned to use the old 95th anniversary fender fringe skirt for the rear too but then thought I might add a hitch and decided against it.  Still have the powder coated hitch but, so far, haven't installed either.  So ended up with just the levers and floorboards fringe.  To my tastes it's still a good look though.

Your RK is gorgeous! I love the painted frame and fork lowers! And the fringe of course... Very well done!

Thanks Ken.  It's been a good bike so far also.  It was really an homage to the combination of an old Road King I used to have and the 02 red SERKs.  The old Road King of mine was one of my favorites and I always thought the 02 was the best looking bike Harley ever did.  So combined the two in many ways as this project got built.  Here's the old one:

Wow! That's a gorgeous old SERK! I love all the chrome on it. Very Old Skool indeed!  :2vrolijk_21:

I'm spoiled now with my fairing and tunes... but I have always thought the RKs are the best-looking Harleys on the road.

My old FLHTP had a Cee Bailey Lucite 2"-over-wide lightly smoked windshield that I put on it, to replace that nasty old Lexan stock one. It was like riding behind a big picture window... less wind buffeting than the Honey Badger. I also had the fork-mounted wind deflectors on it... the long triangular ones that go down the forks. Those helped a lot with stability at high speed. I also had a True Track Trackula stabilizer and front engine mount on it, and it handled very well with the 80-spoke chrome wheels... they were much lighter than the ugly 10-spoke cast wheels that came on it.

Makes me sick to think about how much money I put into that bike and got none of back out.

Couldn't agree more Ken.  For simple aesthetics, just the look and feeling that comes from seeing it, the best stock look is the Road King.  In my mind's eye that is "motorcycle" and really always has been.

When the Road King project got done a year and a half or so ago that twin idea of being spoiled by fairinged bikes but loving the Road King look is what did in the red bike (the 05 SEEG) for me.  That was a beautiful bike.  It had everything done on it I wanted.  I could just ride it and be good to go.

But the old Road Glide was actually a better highway ride.  The fixed fairing is just a better long distance ride. And it, too, was all set up for me.  Nothing to do but enjoy it and use.  Three bikes made the toys almost a nuisance.  So it was easy to pick which one I felt bored with.  The 05 went to a great new home.  The Road Glide gets ridden and the Road King is the local/regional hopper and the play toy.  Gotta love a nice Road King.

I saw the engine display @ Daytona in the HD Dealer parking lot. I was standing there thinking it looked cartoonish when the guy standing behind me summed it all up, he said "that looks like a HD engine built by Kuryakyn" and I have to agree. It is round and bulbous and the rocker covers do look like something from Kurakyn. Kurakyn stuff looks cheap to me and so did the Indian engine. But for those who buy them I hope they are better bikes than the California MC company knock-offs were, I have a buddy with one of the last ones built with the Coke cap engines and it is a constant problem, looks nice, just not very reliable.

Would buy one of these IF I could find one!

Dealer in NC has one on the showroom but it's sold.

I entered also.
Calling Steve on Monday for his thoughts on an exhaust system.
And will ask Jim about Hawg Wired and cams for it.
Remember the bike is just the down payment.
Steve (Cole) better make a TTS for it.

Damn, got to rearrange the garage to make room.
