Repairing Gouged Fin
« on: December 10, 2012, 06:49:47 PM »

At some point in its life I think the dealer nicked the fin with a tool.  It could not have been me!  There is a gouge on the front left side of the jug by the horn.  It's small, but bugs me.  Has anyone repaired such a thing?  I am hesitant to just polish it with a stone as the fins look like they have some machining to them.

There is no way to re-form the fin back to how it was cut. The best you could do is take a small file and square the edge without scratching the paint off. If you use pliers to to form the area flat you will make more marks in the paint or chip it off.

If someone invented a machine or tool to put "it" back like "it" was, he would be the richest guy in the world...
