load equalizer needed???
« on: May 22, 2017, 01:02:01 PM »

I have a FLHRSE5 2013 with "normal" running/indicator lights; I want to change them for led inserts; do I need a load equalizer? thanks for an answer!

Touring models prior to 2014 do require load equalizers, as do Dyna's prior to 2012 and Softail's prior to 2011.  In other words, the bikes with CAN bus (HDLAN) do not require an equalizer.

Technically, yes you do. However, Harley, Kuryakyn and Custom Dynamics all offer signal lights that have load equalizers included and are thus "plug and play." Checking the various web sites is very simple. All of those cost significantly more than you can do otherwise. Super Bright LEDs now offers signal lights for about 12 bucks a piece but you have to install load equalizers front and rear.
