Rear fender exstenion
« on: January 15, 2011, 07:18:46 PM »

OK first post with new bike, on my 08 sg the bottom of the fender has the tail light  . can that fender exstenion with the light be put on new sg. I like the looks of it and never hurts to have more lighting in rear. Any pros or cons?
         Thanks Retro 11

No it can't.......put the Saddlebag Spoilers on with the LED's.  Had em on my 2010 and have them on order for my Krypto!

Look on page 382 of the current HD accessories catalog. They are "lid" spoilers and go on the back of the saddlebag lid and have an LED light in them that runs and stops with your taillight provided you have the run stop turn option on your bike. They also make them for your tour pak lid. Works the same way. Picture is also on 382.

Hey Retro

This is off the subject but.  How does the alarm work? What turns it on/off a remote? Is it audible?

Thanks

I looked at them and if I wanted a lot of chrome on my bike I think it's buy them.
I plan on using the clear polymer protection skins put on my lids and went with the spoilers instead.

@ Wayne G...Yes, the alarm is audible...found out the hard way in the Gaslamp district in downtown SD where there is RF interference that prohibits the fob from talking to the alarm...yup you guessed it, I had to manually disable the alarm with the turn signal method...not a big deal as I went through this issue with my 08 FLHR, so I was prepared...I don't know if there is another way to defeat it or disable it, you'll have to consult your manual or tech...but to make a short story long, make sure that you set your manual alarm disable code to something other than the factory default and to something that you'll easily remember.
