Extra front lighting
« on: August 03, 2019, 08:34:50 PM »

Looking to add more lighting up front.  I have a 2016 streetglide cvo.  I am trying to not add auxiliary/passing lamps if possible although the jury alum ones are slick and have a bullet appearance.   Anyone have them?.    Any other options?  Lights on the crash bar with lower fairings work ok?   Want more than to be seen. I also want to see better.  Pics would help too.  Also I like the Daymaker headlight but has anyone else found better??  I trust you guys more than reviews on company websites.   Thanks in Advance!!

I still like Motolights and would recommend them. More info and photos and opinions in this old thread:

Clearwater Darlas really throw some light also. I don't have any pix from the front but they look like the previous post from SDCVO.

Sent from my boring Droid phone.

Just my humble opinion of course, but I've always preferred my lights to be mounted to a sprung part of the bike, such as the steering head brackets or an engine guard, as opposed to an unsprung part like a brake caliper or lower fork leg.  You will get a lot more bouncing of the light mounted on an unsprung component.  I also prefer lights to be mounted higher off the ground if I'm using them to actually see and not just be seen.  Regardless of what you decide to do, please take the time to properly aim the lights.  Having lights blasting oncoming drivers in the eyes isn't just rude, it could blind them right before they join you in your lane.

The photo above, the light needs a little longer bolt,Those NY-LOK nuts need at least one full thread thru the end to totally allow the nylon to grip.
And everything GRC said X2.

I had Custom Dynamics Pro Beam CVO Amber and White Turn Signals and Also their Amber and White Windshield Trim.   Made a huge difference and got a lot of compliments on the Wshield trim.

My wife got me LEDs off Amazon for Christmas. They work great and only cost $97. One of the best upgrades I've done.
