Just installed New J & M 7.25 Speaker Upgrades
« on: March 25, 2010, 02:15:27 PM »

For those interested.
I just installed the New 7.25 J & M Speakers with chrome tweeters in my FLHTCUSE3.
The sound is great, much more base, and overcomes wind and buffing at HWY speeds well.
Very pleased!

Are you using the original stock amp with the new speakers?

This sounds like a cheaper approach to get just a bit more listening pleasure from my SERG speakers without the added amp cost.

Thanks for the update.

Dan,
Yes....
I feel that with the upgraded amp. that comes with our S.E. bike's the sound is much deeper, especially on the base.
Just installed last evening so haven't had much open road time, but so far so good!

I put em on my scooter front and rears (SEUC5) and they rock with the stock amp!  All the way to Daytona and back the only gripe I got was from the person behind me sayin TURN IT DOWN!  I don't even use the boom box or stereo system in the garage any more. I just plug my Ipod in and 80 gigs of pure pleasure, warning keep the battery tender around (don't ask).   Dr V-twin in CA has a package deal saved about 140 total on front and rears, he only stocks em in black cause he said the chrome rubs off and looks funky. I did the speakers only on my SESG and I am very pleased with the results!  Even my dealer was very impressed with the upgraded sound quality without the addition of an amp.  :bananarock:

Do you have to use there speaker grill on the fronts? Are the tweeters attached to the grill. I just think the metal grill from Hawg wired (I believe) looks better.

you put them together, so if you have something else that fits............

But how are the tweeters attached? To the grill or to something else. If not attached to the grill then I could use any grill that fits the hole. If they attach to the grill then it seems it would be more difficult.

The tweeters are attached to the grill.
