Connected the power leads to the fender tip lamp connectors in the fairing by the headlight.

Routed the audio cable out the right side handlebar opening and plugged into the HK aux in.  Someday I'll put an aux on the back.

Install obviously works for 550 as well as the 660 since the screw patterns for their cradles are similar.  Next time I go into the fairing I'll probably swap the air temp and fuel gauge positions.  You can still see the fuel gauge but I think I'll like them swapped.

Really like the finished product.  IMHO it definitely beats the handlebar mount or Kury fuel door mount I was previously using!  Took a couple hours and the result is great.

Thanks so much for the step by step. It does not look like there is any adjustment for the GPS as for viewing it.  How does it seem for you.  What is your height?

Thanks so much for the step by step. It does not look like there is any adjustment for the GPS as for viewing it.  There is no adjustment for the GPS angle but it is good for me.  The angle matches the speedo/tach angles and fits me well. How does it seem for you.  What is your height? Vertically challenged at 5'8".

Awesome install and pictures, looks like I’ll be ordering some more parts.  Any idea what the diff in the 08 dash pad vs. 09/10?  Someone earlier noted they were different part numbers.

Hi Eric,
great job, thanks for the pic's. Do you think i have to buy the dashpad with the holes?
Or is it possible to drill the holes by my own?

Jo,
The only reason I got the dashpad with the holes was to allow reinstallation of the original if I chose to remove the mount.  You should be able to keep the original dashpad on and slide the mount back and forth on the pad until you see the ideal location when the top of the mount is parallel to and flush with the top edge of the inner fairing.  Then you could target and carefully cut out the leather around the new hole locations and then drill thru the ABS of the dashpad.  To answer your question, No you don't need to buy the dashpad with holes.  You can get a feel for the location and size of the holes using the mount and my pictures.

Dude,
Outstanding pics!  Just what the DR. ordered.  Did ya drill the holes from the inside of the fairing?  Thanks for the help.
