Help needed with HID Installation
« on: March 24, 2013, 09:58:27 AM »

Tried to install HID on my buddies FLTRSE3 and mine.
Buddies installation and testing was fine, everything okay.
My Installation was not the problem, but by testing the HID,
I used 3 fuse-pin and only 1 HID was on. The cable with the
3-pin warmed and the ballast was starting to "cook".

Any advise what went wrong, cause the standard lights were
still working afterwards.

bandit, you did not say what type of HID lights you installed so it is difficult to diagnose. It sounds like one ballast is not functioning, assuming you are using them.  If so, did you try switching (first) the 3 pin connections to the bike, testing and then switching the connections from the ballasts to the bulb? That should help isolate the problem.  If you can take both lights come on one at a time, the issue is with the ballast.

It was LICHTEX-Ultimate 35W Can-Bus (german product).
Tried on the other bike, but didn't worked either.
