Jr has a three dimensional mind. While he may not have any drafting skills he can visualize a concept and with the help of some decent fabricators accomplish his goal. You can't discount the ability he has to come up with fresh ideas. To be sure trailer queen ideas but that's what his clients are looking for. Pohl the fool has no conceptual design ability whatsoever. He is good with AutoCAD therefore he things he's a designer. I worked with more people like Pohl at BIW than I can count. They knew nothing of ships. No clue what went into building one, how things related to one another but boy oh boy were they CAD wizards. All the skill in the world at using a computer program will not replace the ability to see in one's mind what it is you wish to accomplish. Sr never gave Jr any credit for this talent. Had he done so and never hired Pohl the Fool, OCC as one business would still be very much in the forefront of popular custom motorcycle design. Everyone has their strengths and talents. Sr is the ability to find clients willing to pay $200,000 for a one off custom motorcycle and the flash and glitter of a event to "unveil" the product. He isn't and never was much of a wrench.Sr also knows how to work the banks and local politicos to get what he wants. He has business skills even if he has no people skills. It takes an incredible amount of hubris to pull off the things OCC has with regards to what they charge for things and how they've financed their business. I don't have to like the guy to give a nod to that. Jr is even less so with tools in his hands but as noted above, he possess a rare ability to conceive new ideas anc concepts. Mikey was just Curly Joe for the sake of the TV Show. If not for that, he'd likely have been flipping burgers somewhere
