Just got back from Lake George. Shocked to see Harley missing from this event. So you had Indian, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, BMW, etc, but no Harley. Very sad, not sure why they would skip one of the largest touring rallies at a time when sales are down. It was a great week, lots of people taking demo rides.

I was there also and was surprised that Harley was a no show !!! Some one told me there was another Rally at the same time and some Manufactures and vendors when there instead.

It could be because Americade moved the Expo right in the path of where HD always set up. Americade is pissing off a lot of the venders

First thought: Harley Davidson is pissing off a lot of customers.

I was a little surprised to see H-D was not there this year too. I have been going to Americade for the last 15 years and it gets smaller just about every year. This year I brought two bikes . I was the guy riding around with a dog in the sidecar. I think she had more fun than I did.

My first Americade event was in 1991, pretty much a touring rally back then with a lot of the vendors catering to the Goldwing touring crowd but lots of vendors. Pin stripers, tires, lighting & sounds, Chrome, you name it. I went for about 10 years straight, and off and on since then but missed the last 6 years in a row. I was able to get up there this year on Thursday, WHAT A FU*#%@* DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!! the whole event has changed the vendor area is nothing but the cheap leather vendors selling cheap Pakistani products! The entire vendor area has been cut in half & Some IDIOT came up with a bright idea to put a concert stage in the middle of main street and divert the traffic flow around the side streets for 2 blocks and then back on to Main, I'm sure this was for crowd control on Main St and did nothing but create a cluster F*#K trying to navigate it. Lake George is a beautiful area with some great mountain riding routes even into Vermont's mountains I love getting lost up there, but I'll never go back to the Americade Rally! AND YES I DID OWN A 1986 GOLDWING ASPENCADE IN 1991..... BostonBoy

I heard from the poolboy that the entire HD demo fleet was in the shop having new oil pumps, lifters and compensators installed :nixweiss:
The oil pump is on back order, which caused them to miss the event..... might miss Laconia too...
