Title: 2014 SERK - relocate turn signals
Post by: Fayston on June 10, 2018, 11:57:57 PM
Hi guys, want to relocate the turn signals from the handlebars to the sides of the nacelle (similar to the Street Glide).  With either an aftermarket piece from Alloy Art, or maybe the Street Glide kit.  Wondering how easy/hard this is.

Thanks in advance for the help, Fayston

Did use that on my SERK:

Custom Auxiliary Lighting Kit #Part Number 67800367

Best what you can get  :coolblue:

These are from HD and fit the SERK.  The Street Glide pieces won’t fit a Road King.

I did the same as Sneaky Pete on my 13 King.  Nice and clean looking.

Thanks GK.  Saw that kit, not looking for the passing lamps though.

Sneaky Pete - do you have the part number for that kit, and did you do the install yourself?  Wondering if this is a pretty simple move, or if there's anything complicated.  Thanks.

The bolts holding the rubber mounts to the side of the bike are 5/16x18. I went to Ace with one of the turn signals, and removed the ball mount from the signal. The thread there is 5/16x24. I was hoping to get a piece of all thread if the thread patterns were the same.

What I ended up finding was stud bolts, course 5/16x18 on one side and fine 5/16x24 on the other side. Removed the existing bolt holding the bottom rubber mount, screwed the new bolt stud in, used 2 nuts to tighten it, then added the washer, a 3/8 spacer and just screwed the turn signal onto the mount. No extra mounts needed, no holes to drill.

Built my old Road King that way (with the FLHX style signals and nothing on the bars).  Much prefer it.  Cheap parts if all you want is turn signals.  You can do it with or without spotlights.

If with spotlights the similar option to the FLHX mount is what the later touring models ran.  Even though I had that on my SEEG I was never a big fan of the big spot lights.  On my Road King did it with a HeadWinds mount and smaller spots.  Still butt tons of light when accompanied by a good LED headlight.
