I was about 5 miles from home, finnishing up my Ride when i discovered I couldn't shift up/down so I limped home by slipping the clutch and Running stop signs. At first I thought the worst case being the transmission but it was the threaded shift rod and maybe the female ball joint end at the transmission side. A inexpensive fix. I ordered an aluminum replacement, on second thought I probably screwed up because it too will probably strip out too sooner than later. Has anyone had issues with their custom aluminum shift rods stripping out? Is a steel female rod better than the make threaded rod? Should I sell the aluminum one cheap?
