Title: 117 engine upgrade cam question
Post by: Scott-FLHXSE on July 10, 2018, 11:15:29 AM
Last week I took the engine apart on my brand new bike.  It's the 2018 Street Glide CVO.  I added the CNC ported heads, high flow infectors, bigger throttle body, Andrews M460 cam and added adjustable push rods and the black push rod covers instead of chrome.

My question is, what cam do you all think is the best for performance but still drivable in stop and go situations?  We got the tune all set but sometimes the bike hesitates taking off.  Putting another cam in if I have to is easier now with the adjustable rods minus the cost of course.

I'm just looking for some suggestions or ideas.

Thanks

I suggest you talk with Steve at Fullsac and get his input on what should be done. He may suggest a tweak or two in your map and the stumble will go away.

Please let us know what the solution was.

Best regards.

The tune is not “all set” if it’s hesitating while taking off.  A different cam won’t fix it— a proper tune will.

Have you tuned the bike ? What pipe ? What tuning device are you using ?

Looks like Steve @ GMR Performance is less than 2 hrs. from you. He seems to have an excellent reputation as a builder/tuner. I wouldn't think twice about calling him.
