What do you do about water getting in around the speaker on Streetglide? I've tried to find something but striking out. I once read about something called lid codoms but can't find it.
Thanks Bob

When I had the 2012 StreetGlide all I did to get water off the speakers after washing the bike was turn the saddle bag up side down for a few minutes and than the volume up after reinstalling the bags and lets it dance the water out.
Never had any water get past the speaker into the bag.

I have had water get through the speakers with two different sets, both replaced under warranty. The water was actually going through the center of the cone. Not effective way to seal it, so they will need replaced.

I found them this morning, their called lid condoms. http://www.meanmachinecycleparts.com/product/lid-condoms/ (http://www.meanmachinecycleparts.com/product/lid-condoms/)

You shouldn't have to use a lid condom to keep water out of the bags. They might come in handy to keep water and trash out of the speaker while the bike is stored or when washing the bike, but I doubt you'd want to leave them in place while riding. When that sudden rain squall catches you on the highway, those covers stored inside the bag won't be much help.
I'm pretty sure there is more than one company that sells quality speakers suitable for outdoor use and are water proof (and of better overall sound quality as well). There are existing threads I remember reading around here that discuss this issue in detail. Try the search feature.

Nice, I run 7X10 Focals in my lids (love them..) and have used a trash bag I wrap around and then locked in when I shut lid. It works but a pia to use and make sure they don't come loose at speed. These will be much better, thanks!

If you are going to use the stock size..... Try hybrid audio. Great sound. Wonr leak. The tweeters are bridged. I loved em on my sg. Stuart. They sound great. 4 omhs.

Are you sure the speaker is leaking? I have heard that the o-ring at the mounting screws of the grill or the speaker don't seat properly sometimes allowing water in.

3 years no leaks and I get them drenched when I was it.
