Title: What Touring Seats Fit What Years?
Post by: Dan_Lockwood on December 26, 2018, 03:24:27 PM
I bought a new Sundowner for my '08 SERK back in the day and it fit great, but looked not so stylish.  When I traded in my '08 SERK for my '09 SERG, I used the '08 Sundowner a couple time while I had the CVO seat issues in '09.  It fit without any issues.

My nephew just bought a Non-CVO '08 Ultra and needs a new seat.  I see listings in our for sale that show '14 and up and '09 thru '19 for touring fitments.

I know that my '09 has the new frame and the '08 the old, but the seats did interchange.

So for my nephew, what seats would fit his '08 Ultra?

CJ has a hammock for sale that would be a great seat for my nephew, but it's listed a '14 and up.  Now if it were maybe new in '14 it would only say that current year onward, but would like to help my nephew out and find him a good seat.

Thanks in advance.

2008 Harley went to 6 gallon tank and changed the mount for the front of the seat, it has remained the same since then. The variables for seat fitment include full length tank console such as the one on a Road King. In 14 the width of the passenger portion is wider ( speaker pods were moved further apart) Which means a 13 seat can fit a 14, but a 14 seat cannot fit a 13 or older with a tourpac.

Motor1, thanks.

So on my nephew's '08, a '14 would fit the frame, but would NOT locate between the rear speakers, seat too wide.

That helps a lot in finding him a seat, thanks again.
