Anyone know how to get the LED taillight on a Street Glide?
It is a MoCo restricted part and not available to order I am told. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

a body shop should be able to get one.
they would probably have to have a vin # though.

That seems very unlikely. Taillights are frequently broken and have to be replaced, so they have to be available. I suggest you go to the parts counter, tell them you need a taillight assembly for a 2006 Street Glide. If they should happen to ask why, just tell them yours got broken.

Yea, the VIN is the issue, the MoCo doesn't want everyone starting to run the special part I guess. I'll have to decide if I want to dick with it before I got to the trouble to get around the system.

not so sure on the vin # issue look at the complete set of painted parts I bought for my 03 SERK on e-bay The guy I got em from did not own a SERK and he bought the complete set from a dealer

You may want to hold up a bit on the FX LED light. I understand that HD is making some mod's to the unit due to some moisture problems resulting in intermittant operation. Haven't verified the info as yet, but appears to be a very reliable source basing the info on several warranty claims.

Thanks BLM for the heads up. I imagine it will take awhile to get access to the part as well.
I may just go for some LED rope under the tour bag anyway. I just figure you can't have enough light on these things, within reason. I don't need a neon sign but I do want the braindead four wheelers to see me if possible.

I have been looking for a while for a lay-down LED tail-tight that does not have license place illumination on top. Would this street glide light fit that bill?

No, the FX part is actually a rear fender cap that has slotted LED's that show thru the fender. The lights are on the very bottom of the fender. You might want to call Kuryakan on the lay-down light. I saw one on an '06 FLH last weekend that did not have the white-light section. Don't know for sure, but it looked like the Panacea series of light.
