Found the coolest thing to add to the 12 SERG.
Service manager said, "Damn Chip, that's going to get you arrested.
:nervous:
Oh well, we pay our money and we take our chances.
Take at look at the picture below, see those ugly red reflectors on the saddlebag latches.
Then look at the next picture.

No more red reflectors.
Don't pay any attention to the saddlebag spoilers, this thread isn't about them.
Red reflectors gone, black in their place.

Those new saddlebag reflectors are black, at least until the lights are turned on.
WhooHoo!

Reflectors? We don't need no steeenking reflectors!
Especially against that blue field the red reflectors aren't a good look. The dark inset looks muchs better. The SERK project bike got some opal dark red pieces from Iron Glass. What did you use on the blue 2012?

Another view.
"Disclaimer" This picture appears to show a lot of scratches on the saddlebag.
I even went back out to make sure there were no scratches.
NOPE, none there, just reflections from other shiny things in the garage.
I think these blue lights are very cool!

Let me practice my line,
"Officer, the guy in Joplin said it was ok to run these."

:police: have the option to warn, ticket (issue summons), or arrest.... that statement may get you thrown under the jail. :huepfenlol2:
BTW - They do look nice :2vrolijk_21:... but I wouldn't run them on the road :nervous:... they will definitely get you some time on the side after seeing some blue strobes in your mirror.

Wire it up as a running/TS light?

A fantastic mod... I think they look great....
And what's a little jail time.... If you can swing solitary, it's 3 meals a day plus an opportunity for some sleep! :2vrolijk_21:

There we go!
There's an upside to everything!

Did you get the option that gets them to flash at the beat of the music?

Slick mod!

Now those would look real nice with my big blue.....
By the way......the Nor Cal members know that I ride with my blue lights on all the time. With the exception of the dash lights, don't really have any blue lights showing to the rear (that's what an officer told me the law says.....showing to the rear). Just hasn't been an issue for me, but then I'm not wearing a white helmet or doing anything else to make somebody think I'm trying to play police. :nixweiss:

Chip...found this while purging photos from my computer. At the parade during the 105th.

Looks good. I did the same with my RK a while back.

Amber lights to the front and side in front---------------Red lights to the rear and rear sides ,this is what DOT requires for safety purposes and so supposedly vehicles can be identified from a distance at night by other motorists and allow them to tell which way the observed vehicle is going.
The blue lights are certainly fashionable and a really cool add on to the bike -----------just maybe not the smartest thing to do in our world. Don't know about you but I like to give cage drivers every chance I can to not run over me . On the other hand they probably don't know what the red and amber reflectors mean anyway and besides when they are looking at their cell phone it doesn't much matter , they're gonna hit you anyway!
Mod on my man ----very pretty!!!!
-
Nice Chip, always like more Blue :2vrolijk_21:

Not sure how I missed this thread... something else to add to the wish list.
Those side lights look great!!! :2vrolijk_21:
Also, can't wait to get my new saddlebag lids painted so I can install the rear spoiler lights. It is great to see what they will look like in my bike. Sweeeeeeeet!

Very cool mod!
