Buffalo, Babes, Banff or Bust! | Busted! | Plan B | 2018 Redux

Last year I began the process of thinking of potential locations to visit in the summer of 2017.  I had a few in mind but nothing seemed to trigger that excitement.  While speaking with a friend, they were dreaming of a visit to a certain area.  Then it hit me!  Go THERE!!!

While I have been there in the past they have been brief visits always saying I would like to spend more time there.  So the thought process began.  The questions were vast and many.

With a plan in mind, I started my journey but did not plan for what would come.

Day 1 | Savannah, GA – Foristell, MO

This day would consist of a stop in Nashville, TN to meet with some friends and continue on to my consistent stop in Little Nashville, IL.  I have stopped for fuel here over the years but never really saw this little church.

Located on Highway 127, Nashville, IL, this half-pint house of holiness is on an elevated boardwalk.  There is no place to sit but you can kneel. 

The church is fenced off but that did not stop us!  Apologies Lord!  Inside are some Bible verses on the wall and some thoughts to live by.

On this day I would be surrounded by cornfields, with periods of heavy rain and lighting.  While riding in these conditions are never fun, sometimes they are necessary and I have come to appreciate them more since being rear-ended on the interstate while raining.

A good start to my journey…

Day 2 | Foristell, MO – Chamberlin, SD

On this day it would be a basic gas and go type day.  Temps in the mid-70’s with light rain throughout the day.  Starting to see a number of motorsickles on their way!

Day 3 | Chamberlin, SD – Sturgis, SD

A short and easy day that would let me to my first destination – Sturgis Bike Week!  Temps were in the lower 80’s with light rain. 

However before making it to Sturgis, it would be time to be Bad!

The Badlands are a dry terrain and have been extensively eroded by wind and water.
