Accessory Mode
« on: August 30, 2018, 08:34:15 PM »

I have an '18 RG CVO and when I put the bike in accessory mode I notice that the headlight comes on.  I follow the instructions that are in the manual (page 38).  It states that the headlight should be off when in the accessory mode, but mine turns on and I cannot turn them off.  Gauges and radio turn on as it's supposed to.  Anyone know why the headlight turns on as well?  Am I doing something wrong?  There are no other issues with the bike as far are lighting or electrical.  All is working normally.

Are you sure the headlight is on? In accessory mode, there should be very small LEDs in both headlamps and those stay on.

OMG!!! You're right.  It's not the headlight, just the thin long LEDs in the center of the lamp.  Thanks for pointing that out.  WOW I feel like an idiot.

Speaking of the topic do you have to keep turning the switch on and off every time it times out ?  Sometimes I like to use the stereo when I’m in the shop but it only lasts 10-15 then goes out

Have you tried plugging into a battery tender when you leave the radio on that long?

I believe I read it somewhere in the manual it is supposed to shut off after 20 minutes so you don’t run the battery to low.
