I’m only barely contemplating looking at a new Road Glide, but have a couple questions. One, does the 21” front wheel raise the Road Glide higher than a Street Glide/Road Glide with the 19” wheel?

Second, I’ve read it sounds like fairing lowers are able to fit with a regular engine guard. Is there any modifications that need to be done besides buying the engine guard?

Third, if lowering the front 1”, will that impact the fender clearance to fairing lower?

Thanks for the help guys.

The 21 inch tire is a 130/60B21  63H, and the overall diameter is 27.39".
The 19 inch tire is a 130/60B19  61H and the overall diameter is 25.39".

As you can see, if you just added the 21" wheel and tire to a regular bike it would raise the front end one inch.  My understanding is that Harley made changes to the front end on the CVO with the 21" front tire to maintain the front ride height.  You would have to dig deeper into exactly what they changed to see if that change would impact your question about clearances and any plans you might have to further lower the front.

Thanks for the info. I see on HD website that CVO street glides and road glides are about the same seat height. So some trickery.

Harley lowered the front suspension 1" for the 21 wheel.  Makes it almost the same trail and rake as the 19.  feels the same.

Regular engine guard will work as well as lowers.  I know, did it to my 18 CVO with the 21 front wheel.

Looks good. Thank you.

Now my own issue is can I live with a stock height front end as there isn't really a way to lower it anymore since HD already dropped it 1" for the 21" wheel. I'm 5'6" on a good day and all my previous Street Glides I've dropped the front 1" from stock on a 19" wheel. I do see the laden seat height is .2" lower on a Road Glide than the Street Glide. Compared to my 17' CVO Street Glide, laden seat height difference is even more (if HD info is correct).
