UPS, AFLAC, ReMax Realty and Other Corporate Giants Working Overtime in Georgia to Destroy Your Second Amendment Rights

SB 43 simply codifies into law that employees may leave a firearm in a locked motor vehicle while on their employer's property and provides employers with protection from civil liability for the actions of criminals

SB 43 does not authorize an employee to have a firearm outside the vehicle or in a secure parking facility
Unfortunately, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Retail Federation and Georgia Association of Realtors, among others, are spreading lies about SB 43 and are working behind the scenes to attack your Right to Keep and Bear Arms. They say their rights as employers outweight your Constitutionally guaranteed Second Amendment rights and your right to self defense. Thy are pressuring your Senator to defeat this lifesaving legislation.

Big corporations such as UPS, CSX Transportation, AFLAC, WalMart, ReMax Realty, Century 21, Keller-Williams Realty, Mohawk Industries, Shaw Industries and the Georgia Traditional Manufacturers Association (GTMA), think they should have the right to dictate what you may have in your vehicle or force you to give up Constitutional rights as a condition of employment. If they can tell employees what they can and cannot have in their locked vehicle, your Second Amendment rights, and your Right-to-Carry are meaningless. Send these arrogant corporations a message by calling your Senator and Lt. Governor Casey Cagle and ask them to support SB 43.

It is only getting worse in Oregon, look at this:

Two Anti-Gun Bills Moving in the Oregon Legislature!
Monday, March 26, 2007

House Bill 2852 would give the Port Authority more control over where law-abiding citizens can carry a firearm and Senate Bill 1012 would undermine Oregon’s firearm preemption law.  These bills would greatly impact all law-abiding gun-owners in Oregon.  We need your help to stop these anti-gun bills!

Last Friday, March 23, House Bill 2852, sponsored by Representative Jeff Barker (D-28) on behalf of the Port of Portland, was discussed before the House Judiciary Committee.  This bill greatly expands the Port Authority’s powers at Portland Airport and includes an amendment that was offered to expand that authority to ALL properties under the Ports Jurisdiction, including many waterfront and dock facilities.

There has been an ongoing attempt to get the Port of Portland to rescind its ordinance prohibiting Concealed Handgun License Holders from exercising their right to carry within non-sterile areas of the Portland Airport terminal.  Oregon Legislative Counsel (the Legislators Lawyer) has agreed with our assessment that the Port has no authority to issue any rule regarding firearms.  Still, the Port of Portland has refused to rescind its rule.

Any entity that refuses to obey the law should not be granted additional authority until such time as they comply with the law.
