Poor guy
« on: May 24, 2007, 09:04:27 AM »

Picked up my daughter from high school track practice yesterday on the Cherry Jester.  It was such a nice day neither of us wanted to go straight home.  While riding the long way home I was at a stop sign at a 'T' intersection as a truck pulling a landscaping type trailer behind it passed through.  It wasn't until it passed that I noticed a HUGE hog (porcine type, not Harley type) in the trailer.  I settled in behind it and was watching said hog enjoy it's open air ride as I followed it.  We joked about how it seemed to be enjoying itself.  After a couple miles it turned into a butcher shop.  There was someone outside waiting for the delivery as I passed by.  I've accepted my place in the food chain long ago but I couldn't help but feel bad for the pig when I reallized that it had maybe another 15-30 minutes left in this world.  I know the ribs in the photos that Hoist posted yesterday came from somewhere and I'm a champion BBQ'er myself but I couldn't help but feel sad for the big fella.

:behead2:Anyone need fresh sausage or ribs for the holiday weekend?

Well those steaks and rib come from some thing.  Always different when you see it.  As kids we thought it was fun on the farm to watch them kill chickens and cows.

Without regard to the fate of the poor pig there are important rider safety rules to be reminded of here.  Rule 1 and 2 are a tie so it really doesn't matter which comes first.  But they are:

1) Thou shal't not be the bike immediately behind the car that hits a skunk.

2) Thou shal't not be the bike immediately behind livestock.

Dead skunks flinging and zinging and flopping by at shoulder height spraying their ook, guts and stink all over the place is just heinous.  Wet slimy livestock poo slinging back from a stock trailer not only will foul up your vision; it's just foul  :huepfenlol2: !

Don't fergit to add the 3rd rule in KY -

3. Thou shal't watch the sides of these narrow two lanes with great vigilance fer deer and other critters, especially at dawn and dusk! (HB had a deer graze his mirror a few months back)

And for another shameless plug....you riders remember these rules for your BSR's are princesses and deserve nothing but fresh air and wide open spaces!  :huepfenlol2:

Facts:

1) Beef steaks come from the cow.
2) Pork Ribs come from the pig.
3) There better be some form of dead succulant animal on my dinner plate.
4) If it has eyes, I'll eat it.
5) A piece of beef tosssed in the oven in a tomato paste is not BBQ. BBQ is pork, the hawg.
