I think the standard shock operating range is 0 - 30 psi......for most baggers   it is listed in the manual by weight/riders

I think most ride within 5 - 20 psi

Here's the table from the '06 manual.  I usually ride 15-20 psi and 30-35 psi when loaded.  Hope this helps.

Thanks for that I thought I remembered the low profile shocks max was 50 PSI. :2vrolijk_21:

I believe the SERG has the low profile shocks, so the FLHX spec would apply.  And unless H-D changed something in those shocks, you will probably find that their recommended air pressures are significantly low.  When I set mine per the chart, the shocks bottomed constantly.  For instance, for my weight they called for 0 - 10 psi.  To eliminate the bottoming, I eventually found 18 - 20 psi to work best.  So I would recommend starting at least at the upper end of the H-D recommendation and then adjust to suit your preferences.

Hey Quickster, when you get your manual you might want to customise it. I don't know how to attach the thread but it was posted on April 14 by Oldwrench in general discussion ( just type in service manual in search ) on how to put your service manuals in a book binder. I did it and the manuals look great. The printing place I went to charged me 11 bucks. Mike

I found my SERK to ride best even solo with at least 20 psi

Hey FireDood how'd you do that.   :nixweiss:
That's why Naitram pays me the big bucks ($0.00). :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

You want to know how I found it or how I did the hidden link?

1. How I found it was using your search criteria (name of the thread, section it was in, and the person that created it). Service Manuals/General Discussion/Old Wrench.

2. The code I used to make it hidden once I found the thread looks like this...

Code: [Select]
Link
When you put the URL (http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=22362.0) in that code where it says "URL goes here", and put the subject "Service Manuals" where it says "Links" it will appear as this...

Should have added this to above post. This is how the code would look for that link...

Thanks a bunch. My brain is currently wired for Shovels; I'm in the process of downloading info on Twin Cams. It's funny, all the articles on TC's in the mags that I've looked at for years--I can't remember a damn one. ::)

I had been running around 15 psi but now I've bumped that up to 20. I had one of my air lines rub against the tire and cause a pin hole in the line so ever since then I am constantly checking my air pressure. THe line has been fixed but I am searching for right adjustment. Whenever the money tree starts blooming again, then I ditching the stock setup for a set of Progressive 440's.
