Wondering if Dunlop will produce sizes of their new multi-tread tire for pre-2009 models.  Anyone heard?

I doubt it Jerry.  The MOCO and Dunlop are in bed together.  All we can do is hope.  For now, the ME880's and Elite 3's are great alternative choices.

Emailed Dunlop and got their reply back:

Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your Dunlop motorcycletire questions. Unfortunately, there are no plans, at this time, tointroduce the Dunlop D407 in sizes to retro-fit the earlier model H-D's.   "Dunlop Tire" <website@dunlopmo torcycle.com> To awittmeyer@dunloptire.com

They do make them for pre-2009 models, you just have to buy the adapter for $35,500

I had the stock E3's (07 FLHRSE) now I have the 407's, the E3's handle better. The E3's are still available.

I bought Dunlop E3's for the front, but they're not available from HD. But I can't find the rear anywhere but HD. Anyone found regular E3 Dunlop (not HD) radials for the rear of our SERK3's? Dunlop is weird about availability, but I guess they've made a deal with the devil (MoCo) to make it difficult to get tires except from HD. ;)

E3's can be found at any (honda Dealer or website) in Bias or radial Just know what size your looking for. The main reason HD doesn't stock them is because of the load rateing of the E3 Has not been tested by the mo-co

Doesn't mean that they can't be used , I know a couple of folks that have used them on ultra's.

I have not found a Dunlop brand E3 in the exact SERK3 size/rating other than the HD branded Dunlop. If someone has a source, please forward the link. Thanks. ;)

Hoist, it's simple to do...

Go up on the Dunlop website and look up your stock tire specifications, and write them down.

Then go to the E3 section and find the Bias ply (the radial is too wide for my rim) and find the tire demintion that closley matches what you have.

Then go to Dennis Kirk and buy it for $110 bucks.

Then take it to any metric bike shop and have them put it on (Our dealers will only mount tires they sell)

It's that easy, I just put one on before Milwaukee, I now have 1800 miles on it...I like it.

That's my point. The SERK3 rear is a 17" wide radial. I've checked Dunlop's site. They don't offer the tire in SERK3 size. Only thru HD. Since HD discontinued the front, you can get it directly thru a Dunlop supplier now. ;)

This is what's on the Dunlop Website: http://www.dunlopmotorcycle.com/tirecatalog_tire.asp?id=91

Dunlop E3 Radial Touring & Custom

These radial touring tires deliver great mileage and handling for most big radial-shod touring motorcycles.
Wear resistance is substantially improved with more even-wear characteristics providing increased mileage plus great traction.
The E3 tread pattern provides class-leading wet-pavement performance, even through large puddles of standing water.
Special tread pattern is not affected by rain grooves on steel bridge decks, resulting in less front-end hunting and more consistent feel.

The E3’s sport-derived profile provides a lively response in turn transitions and a solid feel through turns for confident cornering.

I Think we're stuck w/HD branded rears. But I'm using the E3 front instead of HD's relacement. ;)
