Turbo and supercharger
« on: January 29, 2006, 08:23:06 AM »

I saw few posts on twincam section about hp gains.I think the threads name was 120 hp?Some people posted some suggestions about turbo and superchargers.I checked the webpages of the mentioned companies.Especially one of the superchargers look incredibly cool and seems like easy to install with a lot od hp and torque gains. The turbo looks much more complicated to build and maintain but even bigger gains on hp and torque. But i feel like its too good to be true.Especially the supercharger seems too good.Any one has any experience with this kinda setup? Are they really that reliable and easy to maintain?I may consider the charger after i finish the engine work im supposed to to with bolton SE parts. Is it possible to operate a bike like stock with a supercharger installed?I dont wanna endup spending the whole riding season in reapir shop just to fix the thing.Any info is welcome.By the way i will post pics and infor about those compaies later they are saved on my desktop at home. Interesting, I've not met anyone who has this installed, I would imagine you would need to strengthen your engine internals or you'ld be asking for trouble.

Woody plans to be at Daytona Bike week this year. He will have a bike on display at Rat's Hole. I hear that on Wednesday he'll diplay the bike with the Blower in action.

I for 1 am impressed, and still kicking the idea of instalation around in my head. Maybe by July, that's when his next Chrome bunch will be ready.

The automotive industry has been adding superchargers to stock engines for decades. Just watched "Two Guys Garage" on the Speed channel last night, they installed a supercharger to a Mustang then tuned with a dyno. More than doubled the stock HP and Tq.

The end result "isn't" makeing your engine rev at higher RPM than preset limitations, it's just getting to that RPM quicker by increasing the Fuel/Air mixture.
