I can't help but feel sad when small iconic companies are swallowed up by big corporations. Almost without fail, at least in my experience, the small company loses some very important parts of what originally made it great, as it's forced to bend to the will of the new corporate overlords. I hope that won't be the case with Ducati or Porsche.

No, they owned half of Porsche for the past five years or so. As of this month, they own all of it.
