Dunno If I Can Stand The Look....
« on: August 07, 2012, 08:45:23 PM »

It is touring time for me, finally this year. I decided I would cut the wife and me a break this year.... Rear floorboards, the rear pegs on the engine guard, King T.P. c/w Airwing rack, Ultra seat.... I can take all that stuff visually, the 14" W.V. on the other hand.. ack!! but it sure is nice behind it!!
Oh well, it only takes about 10min to but her back - slim and trim....

I know what you mean.
Love the look of the stock shield on mine but when touring the wind is tough.
Rather than change windshields we changed helmets.
That's all it took.

I thought this was gonna be about the two different kinds of mirrors you have on there. ;)

Were you in the process of switching them out when you took the shot?

First off. Nice ride. But I agree that windshield is UGLY but who cares if it keeps you safe and helps with the wind drag. I would rather be comfortable than to tired to ride the next day from wind drag. Anyways have fun on the road.

I was amazed at the difference it made to wind buffeting or head wobble when I went from my Shoei to the Nolan N104  :2vrolijk_21:

wow, it looks so much better with the smaller screen.  I'd consider diff. helmets also if you could avoid that large sail.  That black & white looks great with the tinted small screen.  :2vrolijk_21: spyder

Here is how the scooter looks in touring mode... The Hammock seat and the rest of the combo worked great on the trip! A 650 mile one day blast home was comfy and easy as hell. That 14' WV was the biggest single improvement I've ever done to the tunes...

love the versitility of swapping from tour mode to cruising mode!

But agree... that windshield is  :smilie_daumenneg:
I just need to be sure and never hook up with anyone who has something bigger on their bike, because I don't mind the stock... but that's probably because I don't know what I'm missing! Ignorance is bliss!  :dunce:

I think your windshield looks perfectly fine with the tourpac on the back.  They compliment each other.  Nice setup  :2vrolijk_21:

The side view of the bike in touring mode looks alright to me. The front view looks a bit imposing. Have the same issue with my Wide Glide. In touring mode, I put on a very comfortable Corbin Dual Tourer seat which makes the a** end of the bike look heavy. Don't like the look much at all but sure appreciate the availability of the backrest and the comfort of the seat after about 400 miles! Sometimes you gotta go with function over form and as long as you can get back to good looking form with some quick changes, all is well.

Enjoy the ride!
