2014 Infotainment Ring tone help
« on: November 29, 2013, 05:43:21 PM »

Ok, I'm pretty savy with most stuff, but this has got me. My buddy and I both have 2014 CVo Limiteds. Both have the same problem. We can't hear the phone ring with the helmet headset going down the road. The Ringtone volume is maxed out but you can't hear it. All you notice is the music mutes. When it mutes you look down and see it is a incoming call. But no ring tone thru the headsets. If you have the speakers on it will blow you away if the ringtone volume is up.
Has anyone else had this issue???

I had that happen to me a couple of times.   It was because the phone was set to vibrate. Check your phone settings.

The ring tone is actually stored in the radio, I've tried everything I can think of and talked too the dealer and they are stumped. They are calling Harley next week and try to get a answer.
It rings in the headset but volume is so low you can't possibly hear when going down the road.

This is similar to a problem I'm having. I can get the intercom to work. I've made sure it's set to intercom, set to headset, intercom turned on, etc. When I push ptt, the intercom icon changes indicating it's trying to work, and the music mutes, but we still cant't hear each other.

We arent having that problem, everything functions fine except for when the phone rings while riding we can't hear the phone ring. I've messed with it all weekend and haven't figured it out. I even downloaded a new ringtone into the bike and same thing.
Dealer is closed on Monday, so I won't hear from them today. Maybe tomorrow I'll get a answer. Other than this issue it's working pretty good.
I have been able too create routes on Mapsource and import too the bike. This makes me pretty happy.

My dealer has called me back and can't get a answer from Harley on the problem, but talked too some other customers that have the same issue. Right now there is no fix. I am thinking it is a glitch and hopefully a software update in the near future will fix this.

One of the guys I ride with said his is working fine.  He said to increase incoming call ringtone volume, you need to have the phone actually receiving a call and adjust then.  So with a headset on, when you're receiving a call don't answer until you get your volume where you want it.  At least that what he said  :orange:  Good luck.

6.5 GT Infotainment Ring tone help
« Reply #9 on: January 13, 2014, 08:09:48 PM »

I asked a few months ago about a problem a buddy and myself are having with our new Limited's Infotainment phone ringtone. When using the helmet headset intercom set up, and a phone call comes in, you can hear a ringtone while riding. If the bike is not running you can barely hear a ring tone. While it is ringing you can hit the volume button up and it shows the ringtone volume going up but it never gets louder. When riding at highway speed you can not hear the phone ring. ONly way you know a call is coming in is the music mutes and the display shows who is calling. I just downloaded the latest software file and loaded it but same thing. No volume increase with the headset.
Has anyone else noticed this? Or do we have the only bikes doing this? I'm taking the bike to the dealer this week for this and to get the filler neck recall done. Just curious if anyone had this problem.

I'm having the same issue with my Iphone, the phone is not on mute if you are using the head sets (Harleys )you can not hear the ringtone. The ring tone works without headsets, I  keep looking for a software update to fix the issue but nothing seems to happen. If you attempt to adjust the ringtone volume nothing changes so it is apparent that there is a software issue.

That's exactly what mine does. I'm calling this morning for a appt. to get the filler neck recall done and see if they can get this other issue resolved. I agree it must be a software issue....

I called HD customer service, on the 13th of January, they told me a new software update ( for infotainment system ) is due out the end of January, or beginning of February.

Well, spent 2 1/2 hours at the Dealer today with my bike and my buddies limited. Got fill neck recall done on both and they attempted to fix the ring tone volume problem. The result is no fix for the ring tone volume at this time. We tried 2 other brand new bikes and they too do not ring loud enough in the headsets too hear at highway speed.
I guess it's a waiting game for a software download fix.... Thanks HD!

I just updated mine this morning with the new software update. No change with the ringtone volume. Fail for Mother Harley once again. :confused5:
