Title: Lower Fairing info....
Post by: Bankrupt on November 26, 2013, 08:46:16 PM
Bought some (HD) lower fairings for almost nothing and they fit great if I remove the lower front fairing mounts that bolt to the crash bar. I'm assuming they came off a non-Roadglide. Anyway I'm looking for relocates for the lower front fairing mounts or the part number for the top part of the lower fairing that mounts to the crash bar for roadglides? If that makes sense? Haha... Thanks!!

it does make sense.  however, instead of 'relocating' your fairing mounts, what you need to do is to take a hacksaw to that piece of the cap that extends out over the top of the crashbar.  if you look at the 'new' style vented fairing lowers, you'll see that they make them all with the short top cap now, and there is no difference between road glide, and non road glide.  the lowers that were specifically for the road glides was non vented and a little shorter.  but in 2010, hd raised the fairing up an inch, and 2* tilted forward so that the fairing lowers would not be bike specific.

Ditto on the hacksaw. Lay down a couple of pieces of painters tape to protect the finish. Use anothe piece of tape for a cut guide. Then use a Dremel tool or sandcloth to smooth your edges. Easy-Peasy.
