Title: Question for 2014 CVO Road King Titanium/Black owners
Post by: turn55 on August 29, 2017, 08:15:49 PM
The Tank medallion on your bike: What color is the center of that Tank emblem? I have looked at pictures on the internet but can't really tell.

I'm considering using it on a project that is painted black. If the center is silver, chrome, black, then I can use it. If it is titanium then probably not.

Weird question, but I appreciate the info.

Its the same color as the paint (titanium).  I have the Orange/Black combo and the stripes are orange.

If it is painted a color used in the paint scheme it would look like it would be the color of the tribal designs (Aztec). The color in the grooves appear darker to me, not light like the Titanium. In some pictures I have seen the color looks almost black.   I have seen the orange and green versions and they are easy to distinguish that they are the bikes color.

After looking at pictures of the emblem longer and harder it looks to me like the center is not the Titanium color, but the color of the gray or silver pinstripe that separates the black and the Titanium.  Anybody else concur?

You may have some difficulty securing a set of emblems as they a likely protected parts. I tried to get the little round CVO emblem found on the rear fender of Ultras and on the air cleaner on a Breakout and it is protected.
