Title: 03 SERK Gas Mileage
Post by: JjR on May 28, 2007, 11:40:02 AM
I have a 03 serk with the Stage 1 kit and also the PCII. Current mileage is just about 1000 miles.

I did my first mileage check today and it looks like I'm getting  37mpg. Is that about right? Will it get better as the bike is broken more?

TIA,
John

I just got back from a 280 mile road trip.  I had the cruise set between 70 and 80 for a good part of it, with some twisties.  I averaged 38.6 miles per gallon.

I make that just over 46 to the UK Imperial gallon - not bad.

John, My husband and my bikes are quite broken in - 42,000 and 30,000 miles and we get right around 38 - 40 mpg depending on how we are riding.  Sounds like you are right on the money.  Doubt it will get much better, unless you start to turn your right hand a little slower.  haa haa haa  :cherry:

High 30's is it.  I blame some of it on the new gasoline.  Higher price, less power and mileage.  I would trade the EFI for a carb in a NY (Hoist) minute.  Jet it and forget it.

Just had my bike dyno'd last week, I filled up the tank before it was done. I just flled up today and my mileage is 33.45. I hope that it dropped because of the dyno testing and me getting on the bike  a few times.

Averages between 36-41, depends on how hard its ridden and type of roads. With cruise control and freeway speeds (75+) it pulls 40+ regularly.
