Here's Road Glide swag.  On the Classic SERGs a part that was OE unique to them was the rear light bar.  Instead of the normal big ugly rear light bar that existed for years and didn't flow with any body line worth a damn the SERGs got the same ugly rear light bar that existed for years and didn't blow with any body line worth a damn but with little LED lights added on each side.  So cool.

Ok, so it was never my favorite part.  But it was a distinct part of what made the bike what it is.  So it wasn't going anyplace.

I like it now.  It just needed a little TLC (Twolanecare).

So rather than this as it is originally:

Start with this.  The HD branded LED brake light had (unbeknownst to me when buying it) a chromed looking outer body.  Flows much better with the still big but now not quite so ugly rear light bar.

Seeing it illuminated though the light bar still looks out of place.  In complement with the big bright LED brake light it looks... well... supplemental (and not in a good way) when illuminated.  But it's a start.

So what the bike needs is more LEDs.  To make it all flow together :2vrolijk_21: .

Lots more LEDs.

Crap, pic is before the tour pak LEDs were in.  Dammit.  They're the brightest of the bunch (and that's saying something because the others will scare a opossum to thinking it's daytime again).

The parts are purpose built (as opposed to the many generic Mickey Mouse LED options we got offered) LED units from a place called Ride Time Technologies.  Nice bright lights that fit perfectly and work well.  Work flawlessly with the Badlands brand "Illuminator" module to let all the lights gain tail or brake or signal functions that they didn't have before.  The tour pak rear and side lights even have t/s function now as well.

It's bright.  Real bright.  This is in daylight with door closed by ambient light through a window.  And it's only tail light.  It's better when you pull the brake lever :drink: .

Now not only is the bike safer, more well lit, more easily viewable and doing what it can to keep me more secure while riding; not only does it have LEDs all over (front T/S also) so I can stop carrying spare bulbs as the LEDs should outlive me; not only does it have all those things.  But now, most importantly, the damned stock light bar finally looks good and looks like it belongs there :bananarock: .

It is so hard to capture the pop of the flake in the '09 SERG paint. This is a JPG I converted from a 58MB HDR TIF, which REALLY has the clarity to show the shine... but since i can't upload a 58MB file... you'll have to settle for this.

Looking at a SERG from this angle completely ruins you to looking at a "regular" bike with a black "dash." They just look so plain.

I LOVE MY SERG!!!

Thanks! THis is one of my favorite shots, because it actually shows the pop of the flake in the paint. I originally shot it in RAW, and took 3 bracketed shots. I converted it to HDR, but screwed up and deleted the original RAW files. Bad thing was, I was trying out a trial version of Photomatix... so it watermarked the pics. I bought the program... but couldn't create another, so I finally have to break out photoshop and get rid of them the hard way. While I was at it, there was a dead bug on the seat, and some bug guts on the side of the tank, so I made them go away too... lol
