Radio Interference
« on: January 11, 2021, 09:17:56 AM »

Looking for some help here.  Installed a set of LED auxiliary lights on my 2005 SEEG.  When they are on I get quite a bit of static/interference through the radio.  I'm guessing I need to install something else to get rid of this??

Thanks.

Yep, a soft iron choke / toroid on the cable that powers the LED lights (possibly one on each cable).  You've probably got a few around on wall-wart power supplies and things like that that you could take off to try - they clip open and closed.

Thanks for the suggestion.  Had to Google search them to see what they were.  Looks simple enough.  Just one each side?  Closer to the light or does it matter where they go?

Thanks again.

Just experiment a bit to see how well they work in various positions I think. Usually you'd take the cable through them, then back round and through again.   (I had to fit them on a previous CVO when I changed the headlamp to HID).
