03 Sei2 Handlebars
« on: April 25, 2007, 06:38:50 PM »

Hi,

Im in process of starting to look for a stock 03 Sei2 since there are not a lot of them around I probably would have to buy the bike with actually sitting one.

My question is are the stock bars comfortable for a 6'02 rider? I had simular bars on my 04 RKC ( I think they were made by Chubby) and those things liked to kill me. After speaking with Chubby I was informed that they mad two different sets of bars.

One for shorter folks and one for taller ones, so I guess I had the shorter bars.

TIA,

John

I have an 02 SERK and I'm 6'1 and I felt like my hands were at my hips with the stock bars but they were comfortable if that is the style you like. Later,Q

So the 02 03 used the same bars?

I have an 03 with the stock bars.  I am over 6'1" and they are OK.  I wwould like them to be slightly taller, but not enough to pay the money it would cost to replace them.

I am 5'8" and didn't like the stock bars because of the wrist position. I replaced with WO502 chubby apes that are 12.5". I love the feel and the look but I can not believe the difference in wind noise in your ears. It is like not having a windshield on at all. I am going to try the fork mount wind deflectors and see what happens. It must be something to do with the arm position. I will have to change bars for touring if the deflectors don't help.

I have the 03 with stock bars.  I am 5'10" and think they are a little low.  Would prefer the Heritage bars, but not a big deal.

Yeah what he said. I'm nearly 6 ft and would like to raise them up a bit, but don't think it's worth all the $'s and rewiring, etc. besides it doesn't make it go faster right?  :nixweiss: :2vrolijk_21:

Had the bike out for the first ride yesterday and the bars seem ok, so I will leave also. Thanks
