Oil cooler lines for 2003 serk
« on: August 19, 2007, 06:19:29 PM »

I wanted to replace the oil cooler lines with some braided stainless steel ones, does anyone know a source for premade ones or if not, the size needed and any place to buy line, fittings or clamps?
thanks

You can try this place. I bought a set from them for my old FLTR, and worked just fine:
Braided Stainless Steel Oil Line, Oil Cooler Installation Kit. Order 2 Kits & Have Enough Oil Line & Ends To Change Over All Of Your Oil Lines To Braided Stainless Steel!!  10 Feet Of 3/8 Inch Braided Stainless Steel & 6 Chrome Econo-Seal
Hose Ends (Only 4 Required For Just The Oil Cooler Installation)!! $65.00 Shipped To Your Door!!

If I end up changing out my SERK oil lines, I will probably go this route. BTW 10 feet is plenty for this project.

This is done in the streetrod industry all the time.

One of the cheaper places to buy premade lines is http://www.speedwaymotors.com

You might also pick up a mag call Streetrodder and in the back there are all kinds of ads for this type of thing.

The make it yourself package is kind of difficult to use if you've not done stainless braided lines before, but once you learn the tricks to cutting and inserting the line into the fittings, you'll be able to make what you need at a lot less money.

Good luck with your lines.
