Deutsche connector tight
« on: December 02, 2012, 08:03:46 AM »

This is the first bike I've had with the factory speakers in the saddlebag lids.

I have a question specifically regarding the Deutsche connectors on each saddle bag, particularly the larger connector on the left bag.  I have neuropathy in my right hand that makes removing the connector a little more difficult than others might find.

Wondering, is there a non-conductive lubricant that someone might suggest that might make removing that connection point just a little easier.?

Thanks!

Try some di-electric grease - you can pick it up at most parts stores.

Dielectric grease is what you need, and as noted above it's available in auto parts stores.  You can also find it in most hardware stores.  It's a good idea to use it even on connections that aren't hard to disconnect, as it helps seal out moisture and corrosion of the terminals.

Dielectric grease will help, but that is one tight connector.

We use it all the time off shore in a wet environment to protect connections, and corrosion.

Thanks for the tips fellas. Will swing by the auto parts store and grad some of the recommended lube.
