Hey folks, any #'s guys out there? A buddy of mine just bought an 02 SERK in the brandywine flame. H-D says on their web CVO history section that approx. 2200 units were produced. We were wondering if anyone knows how many brandywine were produced and how many of them came to Canada??? The dealer he bought it from said only 4 came to Canada....that seems hard to believe. Is this at all possible? Is there any way of verifying this?

If memory serves me correctly there was a very limited (sorry can't tell you exact numbers) on the '02 SERK in Candy Brandywine. There was problems w/the paint and more of the "Purple w/Flames" were produced then the normal split of the colors. So to have a "Candy Brandywine" is truly a "limited edition".

approx numbers were at one point stated to be 2400 total produced for 02 approx 800 red and 1600 purple how many made it to canada is anybody's guess. but it would definatley be a rare bike there

Just a quick up date...I just was talking with the origional owner of the bike (Canadian) and he said he has only seen 2 of these bikes while he had it. One is Daytona and one in Sturgis....none in Canada. He put 97000km on the bike, so its not that he wasn't out there.

After I bought mine [smiley=banana.gif]I called the factory and was told 411 Candy Brandy Wine's were built. Contrary to popular belief, I was told there was never a problem with the paint. It was a contractual problem with the painter hired to hand paint the flames on the bikes.

Don't know bout that, if the same guy did them as they came off the line it could have just happened that more purples got painted. Somewhere in here I read that there were 1700 or so of the purples.

Well maybe the dealer was right. I have heard that a rule of thumb is that Canada get approx. 10% of SE's. In this case 4, there would have been only 4 in Canada.

I am an owner of an 02 Candy Brandywine and I was told by the factory at York that there were 385 built but have heard the rumors of 800. I have seen two in the time I have owned mine and one was in the employee parking lot in Milwaukee (HD Factory) the other was on display at the Atlanta HOG XIX party. Are you interested in buying one? I have two other HD's now and am getting ready to put this one on the market in the next month. It has under 30K miles on it and is in great shape. I can send you a list of extras on the bike. Garage kept, dealer maintained. Looking to get around $22k USD for it.

I saw a letter from HD and the number was under 500 for the Brandywine. Sorry I can't remember the exact number.

I have a factory memo that my dealer gave me a copy of , and it states that 423 of the brandywine bikes were built and that a small percentage of that number went overseas. if you are interested please send me a fax # and i will give you a copy of the memo

Amazing as it may seem, I bought a brandywine set from the painters that were "fired" after they got the axe from H-D. As I recall the set did have a small paint flaw in it. Wasn't quite up to CVO standard, but a beautiful set just the same. To the best of my knowledge, the Purple sets came from a different supplier and I don't recall anyone ever stating they had the same quality control problem.

I always thought it was a labor/cost challenge. Since the brandywine was handpainted, it cost more to produce, so the MOCO went to decals for the purple ones. Apparently one can feel the stripes on the purple SERKs but not the brandywine ones. They're both beautiful, IMHO, but that purple one is the prettier of the two.

I bought the red one because they were so rare[411 total] and because the red ones are faster!
