Title: Spongy rear brake after fluid change
Post by: roadrunner on January 05, 2020, 05:04:47 PM
Did a brake fluid change and rear brake is spongy.

I didn't introduce any air into  the system, no abs codes, and abs light goes out when in gear.

I did drive the bike and do some hard braking to activate the abs.

Would i need the dealer to run the scan program for the abs or try to bleed again?

Cheers again!

Sounds like the old elusive air bubble. :confused5:

I was told by dealer that they have to use their scanner to bleed the brakes... not sure why, thinking to run the linked brake motor to remove the air  :nixweiss: they wanted 200. bucks to flush brakes and clutch fluid

Dealer can purge for lack of a better word the abs module with the scanner, getting all the fluid out.

We can do a flush, ride the bike, brake to activate the abs, then flush again.

The snapon equix (sp) scanner can initiate a brake flush also. Assuming they have the hd software installed.

I'll give it another flush when my fluid  syringe pump comes in.

Thanks
