On a totally unrelated note, I want a cool nickname...  I was just reading about Click's accident, and in the article they all had really neat nicknames...

 Umm does the word Thread apply here and I'm curious if anyone has an Idea what it might be maybe "Chithead qualifications" or did the idea of a thread just get tossed overboard.

Ok a real nickname is one that someone else gives you and it sticks then you try to not answer when someone calls you by it, so your sure you want to go there.

CB, you've walked in to a relatively well entrenched community of folks that to a surprising extent actually do know each other.  There's no way in hell the world is going to adjust to you hear.  Your best bet is to read awhile.  Gain a feel for the rhythms of the place. Then join in in a friendly fashion.

That's advice for what it's worth.  Come in feeling your oats and firing off like 81mm and you'll find there's 155 in the woods.  And no one wants that.

So, welcome aboard.  Learn the group a bit.  Feel free to chime in in a friendly fashion and the established community will welcome you.  If you're consideing showing your ass for its own sake, however, you can leave that behind you (pardon the pun) now.

Rocketman?  Wrong branch isn't it?  Cool name though.  Trouble is someone will start calling you Rocky.  Then someone else will post a Rocky and Bullwinkle picture.  And, chit, it'll all go downhill from there man.... >:(

I dunno, my other nicknames have been Goon and Big bird (or dumbass or numbnuts when I was kid...miss you dad!)...

Rocketman just seemed cool...  I'm open to suggestions - well not really, but you can make them anyway.  Anything has to be be better then smurf?

Thanks for the feedback showing my ass isn't the main objective "don't have one" if it happens unfortunatly I don't even have a 22 to fire back so call me defenseless. I have been reading this for a while and quite enjoy the banter, if I do happen to step on anyones toes it's because I'm clumsy but if I do I also realize there is a price to be paid. Appology's up front for any offenses created by butting in.

No problem CB.  Sometimes there's a fine line between butting in and having fun and just showing one's ass.  I've no doubt crossed it more than once.  Have fun.  Enjoy the place.  Enjoy the banter.  You'll be playing well with others in no time.
