How can you install a good tach on the FXDWG2 or 3?
Anybody out there do it?

With the headlight cowl there isn't much room , you may want to check out a Dakota Digital tach. I had a tach on my Superglide and they are nice , but after 20k miles on it I got to know where the motor was running pretty well. On my FXDWG3 I don't really miss it .
I got this from the Nightrider site , calculated for the FXDWG3 using a 90/90x21/Fr 150/80 16 Rear 3.15 final

Sounds counterintuitive I guess, but though I never shift by tach I always like to have them onboard. On just about any kind of vehicle. We really should be shifting by ear and feel anyway. Only time I've ever shifted otherwise was on the strip. But even then it's a tach light and not the tach itself. But just for the information gleaned and the analysis and extrapolation you can do from it I always like to have a tach on anything I drive.

I have a tach on mine. I removed the headlight cowling ( I hated it) and think it looks so much better.
