Anyone install Wild 1 WO575 handlebars
« on: March 27, 2010, 08:50:46 PM »

I was considering installing the Wild 1 WO575 to get a little more pullback.  If you installed this handlebar did you need new a clutch line, brake line or wire extenders?  Can you still use the fairing mounted mirrors?  How do like the handlebars?  Any pics you have would be great.  Thanks!

I installed the 575's on my 07 SEUC.  Replaced the brake lines with 2" longer lines.  Clutch was fine.  Wires are plenty long.  A couple inches closer and a couple inches taller.  Wrists are straighter.  I like the bars a lot....   :2vrolijk_21:

I don't know about fairing mounted mirrors...I don't have them...   :nixweiss:

the 575s say "will not work with fairing mounted mirrors" but I know people who have. contact JCZ. i believe his wife has the 575s and she lowered the handlebars a little and the mirrors work fine. He should be able to give you good info. I will be trying this on my candy concord as well. he will also be able to tell you which line needs to be replaced. i cant remember which one

let me know how it goes. I should be ordering mine in the next 30 days

No, we have the Harley Touring pullbacks.........  #56176-08.........  http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442242105&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302287417&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302287417&bmUID=1269908347252&bmLocale=en_US     The up side.......even though the website says they are polished stainless steel, they are not.....they are chrome plated! :2vrolijk_21:  Also, no cables needed or wire issues, just a bit of rerouting (we both have ABS).  It says that they will not work with fairing mounted mirrors however, after reading of a number of guys that have them with fairing mirrors, she tried them.  Just pull them back (down) a little further.  They work great for her but I'm 6'4" so it's awkward for me when I have to ride her bike (usually to Jim's shop).  The other up side.......they're the cheapest way to go.

Now I said that I'm 6'4" but I got to thinkin.......these bars are 2" up and 2" back......maybe I could pull them back just a bit to where they're only 1" up and 3" back.  I have a Corbin Classic Solo that was custom fitted and I had it routed out so that I sit back a little further, but was still reaching (fully extended arms) for the bars.  Now, I can ride leaned all the way back against the back rest, legs streatched out with heels on the running boards and toes up on the pegs, arms in a very relaxed (bent) position.........just cruzin.  So, we're both happy now. :2vrolijk_21:

Some have said that they don't care for the angle of the grip on these bars (I didn't care for the angle on the 575s) so be sure to check that out before you leave the dealership with them.

This picture shows her grip just below her mirror (the mirror is painted also, so it's hard to see).

This pic shows that my grips would be directly in front of the fairing mounted mirrors (but I switched to handlebar mounted).

575's are a great handlebar too..  i did have to replace the clutch line and the brake line. LIttle work but definitly worth it. Very confortable and much easier to reach.

Thanks JCZ, that was some great information.  I am waiting for my new C&C solo seat to arrive which is going to push me back an inch, which I wanted for more leg room.  I am 6'2" and I am all ready reaching more than I would like for the handlebars with the stock seat.  I am going to wait till I get the seat on then make a decision on the handlebars.  I do all my own wrenching and was hoping I did not have to change the clutch or brake lines.  Thanks again and I will post pics when I get my new seat on with all the other mods I have done over the winter.

I forgot that you'd used these bars also.

Very comfortable when the bars are back closer to you.  Again, with these bars no need of the additional costs or labor for changing clutch and brake lines.  And it's a pain in the azz to change the brake line if you've got ABS (I changed to chrome calipers).

Had the dealer install them over the winter on my 08 CUSE3 (ABS). They used the original brake and clutch lines, no extension required. I think they had to extend the FBW throttle cable and the heated grips wiring.

So far I like them, I'm sitting in a more upright position which has relieved the pressure on my back/neck. Don't have the fairing mounted mirrors, so can't comment.
